1 Create the 1st four digits of your model variety on a sheet of paper. The model variety could be located about the bottom of the laptop.

3 Select “Notebooks and handhelds” while in the Brand drop down menu. Select the Family members for the laptop, for instance T42, within the 2nd drop down menu. Select the four-digit model amount that matches your pc in the Form drop down menu. Click “Continue” in the bottom from the webpage.
four Choose the “Users Guides and Manuals” text link around the support page. Click the website link on the Hardware Maintenance Guide and download the PDF file.
five Open the PDF file on your personal computer. Navigate to the segment describing tips on how to substitute FRUs, or laptop or computer elements. Create a note on the piece of paper detailing where the screws are that take away the keyboard only, or print out the detailed diagram.
six Remove the battery, tough drive and the removable bay drive in the laptop.
seven Take out the screws, applying the tiny screwdriver, that connect on the keyboard. Once the screws are eliminated, the keyboard must slide forward somewhat permitting for its elimination from your machine.
eight Eliminate the keyboard and entry the within from the IBM ThinkPad. Reverse the process to put the laptop back together, taking care not to pinch any wires when you reinstall the keyboard.
